Our School Day
School starts at 8.00am for children booked into Morning club, which runs 5 mornings a week.
The school opens to receive all other children at 8.50am and they are expected to be in class by 9.00am. There are always several members of staff to meet and greet the children and Mrs. Hall is on hand to take any messages which need passing on. For any longer discussions with teachers, parents will need to make an appointment for after school hours.
As in most schools, the mornings are based around our Mathematics and English curriculums. All classes also take part in whole school assemblies, every morning. There is also a 20 minute morning break where the children can mix and socialise across the year groups. Children are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack to eat at this time.
Lunch is from 12.00 - 1.00pm. All children have 30 minutes to eat and 30 minutes to play. Lunch is divided into two sittings; one for KS1 and one for KS2. Our lunches are provided by Devon Norse via Westhill Primary School.
The afternoons are dedicated to the wider curriculum, where the children learn a range of subjects including Science, History, Geography, PE, RE, PSHE, Art, DT, French and Music.
The school day ends at 3.30pm.
